I started watching this from the begining, 8 seasons ago and it was your typical monster of the week show but soon after they started laying down the plot for a multi series arc, which was intriguing! I won't give it away, just in case the ladies want to watch the show for some male totty!
Sam and Dean Winchester are 'Hunters' who, as the name says, hunt down evil things. This is primarily Demons but has includes vamps, werewolves, ghosts and other legends from folklore!
This is currently from the official site:-
Twenty-seven years ago, Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force. Subsequently, their father John (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, “Watchmen”) raised them to be soldiers. He taught them about the paranormal evil that lives in the dark corners and on the back roads of America…and he taught them how to kill it.
Through the seasons they have befriended other hunters and angels, especially Castiel, an excellently cast angel, in their constant battle with the 'Forces of Evil'. We've witnessed angels battle angels, demons kill everything in their path and numerous other types of deaths but nothing compares to when the Leviathans return to earth from Purgatory at the end of season 6!
Nearly gave too much away then, the problem is, if you haven't watched it yet if I do mention numerous things it'll spoil the show big time. This series has some really well thought out shocks along the way and not just for the season enders. As the two brothers move from season to season you soon find out that no-one is safe, even their closest friends and allies.
If you like horror, action, great special effects, well staged deaths and witty banter, then this is the show for you. Go check it out
