Yeah, sounds a contradiction I know, but as I actually have two reality tv shows I watch I thought there might be more out there.
The current one I'm watching is Hot Set. They get two production design teams in, give them $15,000 each and an area of sound stage and give them three days to design and construct a workable film set.
They then shoot a 30 second scene on the set and a team of designers pick the winner.
Last episode was an Alice in Wonderland deal with some practical size reduction elements, next one up is a serial killer lair.
Other one, and my fave.... The Monster Man.
Follows this guy called Cleve Hall who is a special effects guy for shitty horror movies. And when I say shitty, I mean the stupid straight to dvd ones I fucking love. He built the two headed shark for two headed shark attack! As you'd expect it just follows them as they get jobs then rush to design and build stuff in time. They also show the stuff being shot on set so it gives you some behind the scenes on low budget films that wouldnt usually get any behind the scenes action.
Loved the 1st series. 2nd has apparently been shot but for some reason it hasnt been aired yet so hoping it hasnt been canned
