This is a superb comic convention oop Leeds, that runs over the weekend of the 17th/18th of November. Numerous 2000AD artists and writers will be in attendance, alongside many loons from the 2000AD fan community!
The convention is split across two halls The Royal Armouries Hall and the Saviles Hall. There is a square inbetween or plaza if you like, where people pop outside for a breather and get attacked by those nutters who dress up in cosplay!
I wasn't thinking of going to this but have now decided to take Sam to it and give him a sketch book to see what he asks the artists to come up with! I am reckoning traffic lights and the tellytubbies, which is gonna be fun for them!
Last year I went up here and had a great time! I did do some Judge beatings, watched Judge Minty at the Directors house (which was great) and did normal convention stuff!
If any of you are going up there I look forward to seeing you and if you don't know what to do, then pop along to the ZARJAZ boys table as the forum can always be found around there.

I'll be there on the Saturday. Alas limited passes with two young child mean the Sunday is looking dodgy. Really looking forward to it.

Isn't that incredibly exciting. I'm really happy for all concerned. I might try to get an extended pass to make it up there for the Sunday now... now then how to word this...

Helllooooooo. The 2000AD panel is one week and a day away, and while we have some pretty cool questions lined up for the panel (details here 2000ad.wordpress.com/2012/11/08/2000-ad-heads-to-leeds-for-thought-bubble-2012/) we'd also like to invite forumites to submit any questions they might have. Line up is: Rob Williams. Simon Davis, Robbie Morrison, Lee Carter, Leigh Gallagher and the lovely Simon Fraser. We're waiting on one person to let us know that they're happy to be recorded, so hopefully, as Rich mentioned, we'll be able to podcast this one, like we did the Bristol one. Sooo, questions?

I always wondered how well people know each other. Being an artist or a writer can, I assume, be a very solitary career or you work with a diverse set of peers, juging by Simon Frasers studio from the recent Podcast, but do you guys all meet, or have contact with each other. Is there, in any sense, a community of of 2000ad creators? When you're breaking in do other creators support you, or even mentor you?

With the shower issue of Grey Area, Lee Carter probably holds the 2000AD record for most boobage in a single strip. Well done that man
Do Lee or any of the rest of the panel have any other 2000AD claims to fame they are proud of?

This one has probably been done, but if not:
Everyone loves a story about an old hero coming out of retirement for one last job (Dark Knight Returns, Old Man Logan, Watchmen). Which 2000AD character would you like to do a final act story for?

No problem. I guess the previous panel over-ran a bit?

No problem. I guess the previous panel over-ran a bit? Nah, the crew had some trouble rounding up the droids. They all turned up ...eventually :-D

Gutted I missed this but I was hanging at the 2000ad table awaiting Henry Flint to get a sketch, so really looking forward to hearing the podcast.
